Tour Part 2

Tour

Michael Collins Michael Collins Area:
This area is dedicated to Michael Collins. Collins was one of the people who were responsible for the "Home Rule" push that separated the Republic of Ireland from British sovereignty in 1917. In this area you will find a proclamation from the provisional government before independence was gained and a mural of the signers of that proclamation.

Also in this are you will see photos of Michael Collins, a replica of his uniform, a bust and a statuette of Michael and a mural of Michael and Eamon de Valera, who was also involved in the Home Rule Movement.

All-Ireland Champions Gaelic Football Theme:
Past the shop pub is the Gaelic/Irish sport area. The owners met through Gaelic Football which is similar to rugby except that it is played with a soccer type ball. Two teams of 15 play for two 30min. halves. Scores are obtained by goals (like soccer) which count as 3 points. Points are recognized by an umpire waving a flag, green for a goal or white for a point.

This area also holds our Pride & Joy - a photo of Colm when he was on the 1990 All-Ireland Championship Team (Colm is standing on the far right).
