Tour Part 5
Tour
The Snug:
The snug was the only place in an authentic Irish pub that ladies
could frequent. It was completely separated from the rest of the
pub and had its own entrance and windows. The bartender had a
small window to pass drinks to the women who were not allowed
to be in the same area as the men.
The Logo:
In keeping with all things Irish, the logo for Conor O'Neill's
is chosen from decorations carved on a stone at the entrance to one of
the oldest known buildings in western Europe - the Newgrange Burial Chamber
in County Meath, Ireland (not far from Dublin).
The building is a megalithic tomb over 5,000 years old and was built to honor
the pagan gods. Nobody knows the exact meaning of the designs, but they are thought
to have implications to the underworld. The attraction of the logo is the mystery
of the design as it relates exactly to the mystery and uniqueness of Irish culture.
